Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is the core committee with overall responsibility for the network. It will comprise the initiative coordinator as Chair, the core members managers, the managers of each of the projects and events, and the Project Administrator. It will have the following overall responsibilities:

  • The main scientific programme
  • Funding opportunities and management of the budgets for the individual programmes and projects
  • Overseeing the management of individual programmes and the co-ordination between programmes and projects

The Steering Committee members are the managers of the initial consortium sites.

OpeningupSlovenia has been designed as an initiative which would address the multi layered issues present in the educational system. Special care has been taken in the composition of the consortium in order to guarantee an adequate representation of each role: research experience, video lecture and content providers, and pedagogical experience and more. Thus, two of the partners (JSI and K4A) have large research experience in data mining, machine learning and machine translation, and four of them (UPR, UMB, ULJ and UNG) have large higher education experience. Two of the partners (Min. of Education and Chamber of Commerce) have also the adequate political and industrial infrastructure to apply the developments of OpeningupSlovenia. The primary school experience will be provided by the school and kindergarten. The initial consortium is comprised by the following institutions:
